In 1957, Lucas Products pioneered the development of photoprotective eyewear for both outdoor and indoor use.
First developed for outdoor use, the original SUNNIES® Eyeshields were without lenses. In 1960, new SUPER SUNNIES® Eyeshields - with lenses and headband - added vision to protection and quickly became the leader in photoprotective eyewear. With the growth of the indoor tanning industry in the late '70's, SUPER SUNNIES' standard of protection was used to develop Federal UV ray protection requirements for all eyeshields and SUPER SUNNIES became the best eyeshields for both indoors and out in the world!
Building on this successes, Lucas Products has continued to expand its product line to include, among other things, Lucasol sanitizers and acrylic scratch removers.
